Team Spirit Award recognizes both competition and contribution at Water’s Edge events. While competitive racing is encouraged, it should never come at the expense of mutual respect among competitors and race officials, adherence to the rules or the basic joy of racing. These three vital elements serve to foster an environment where the challenge does not become “To see what we can get away with” but to create a sense of community and fair play.
Rather than dictate what “Team Spirit” is or should be it is up to each team to create it within the context of the event that they participate. Teams will have the opportunity to nominate at each event a team that demonstrates “Team Spirit”.
The team with the most nominations will be presented the Team Spirit Award during the awards ceremony for each event in the series.
